Four students from Kashmir, enrolled in a nursing college in Bengaluru were allegedly barred from attending classes until they shaved their beards. The students alleged that citing reasons of ‘hygiene’, the college principal informed them that their internal marks would be affected if they failed to comply. They alleged that the principal, who joined the Adarsh College of Nursing in Mariyappana, Mallathahalli 20 days ago, asked us to shave to only Kashmiri students. She barred students from entering class.
When Press Trust of Kashmir contacted Director of Adarsh College of Nursing Jaanes, he said that the report published by Newspaper is baseless and nonsense. He added that in every college there is some rules and regulation which students should follow. When asked about clean shaven, he said that Omar Abdullah have clean shave, Farooq Abdullah have clean shave so there is nothing in clean slave. “But we never ask students for clean shave. We also know about religious”, he added. He further added that “according to rules of University they have to come college with clean slave but still i allow them but they have to do trimmer and come college”. He said all students are same for college whether they are from Kashmir are any other place”. (PTK) SSA teachers’ stages protest to demand implementation of 7th pay commission SRINAGAR, AUGUST 09 (PTK): SSA teachers held a protest demonstration here in Srinagar demanding the implementation of 7th pay commission. The teachers from various district of Kashmir valleys assembled here in Sher-e-Kashmir Park and chanted slogans against the government for not fulfilling their demands. The protesting teachers demanded implementation of 7th pay commission for SSA teachers, head teachers and Masters under RMSA.
They said that families of over 40,000 teachers were suffering mental trauma due to non-implementation of 7th Pay Commission, and failure of Government to streamline their salaries. One of the teacher said that, “teachers have been protesting for their demands but authorities have failed to act. “The Governments in the past made three committees to look into the matter but to no avail,” he said. As the protesters start marching police deployed in large numbers used water canon to disperse them. Police used water canon to foil a protest march of SSA teachers.
